Why We Publish Market Notes

Penn Jets publishes short notes on the private aviation market because the questions we are asked most often deserve a better answer than a phone call can give.
Buyers and sellers are usually working with incomplete information. Aircraft transactions are private by nature, comparable sales are rarely published, and the figures that do circulate are often months out of date by the time they reach anyone making a decision. That gap is where bad assumptions form.
What we write here comes out of transactions we have actually worked on and aircraft we have actually inspected. When we describe how a model is holding value, or why a particular segment has tightened, it reflects what we are seeing in the market rather than what is convenient to say.
We publish these notes for the same reason we take the time to walk a client through a pre-buy inspection report line by line: an informed counterparty makes for a cleaner transaction. If something here raises a question about your own aircraft or a purchase you are considering, we would rather you asked.
